Through the process, it was very important to define the church’s theological and cultural values and to create a visual identity that would honor the church’s historicity and launch it into the future. Trinity’s digital landscape updates came in the form of a new website. A new vision for internal communications resulted in the implementation of ministry-specific rack cards, allowing staff to present themselves in a relevant and professional manner. Accompanying oversized postcards were created seasonally, for the internal community to stay connected with upcoming events and to use as an invitation to engage an external audience. Additional environmental elements were incorporated into the internal building to facilitate guests, as well as visual posters and banners to highlight upcoming events or to designate specific areas of the building.
Trinity UMC
Historic church in the heart of downtown Denver, CO
Creative Direction + Brand Identity + Website Design + Digital & Physical Marketing Collateral + Environmental Design + Photography
I partnered with Trinity UMC as their Communications Director for two years and led creative direction across all aspects of the organization. Trinity is unique in that it is an extremely beautiful, rare historic building in the heart of downtown Denver amidst high-rises and the bustling city scape. However, over the years they have struggled with their location lacking accessibility for the everyday family who lives in the suburbs. A brand refresh was in order to help Trinity explore their values and begin to reconnect with the folks in their immediate sphere–the downtown corridor.
